In the last 20 years, the roles played by Brugel in the world of television and on the screen have been varied. Her role as Rita from the award winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most memorable. Brugel was the sole Canadian part of the cast in Season 1 of the show and was only appeared on occasion.
